Tips to Improve Your Metabolism
Posted in Better Health, Fit Men, Fit Women, Looking Good on August 17th, 2010
Before you can improve your metabolism, you might need to know why it’s sluggish to begin with. Here are the most frequent things that will slow down your metabolism and, in turn, cause you to gain weight:
Foods with a high glycemic index. Australian scientists have observed that diet programs that focus on low glycemic index foods are more effective for weight loss than diets that only cut down on fats or calories. High glycemic index foods (white bread, white rice, processed breakfast cereals, white potatoes and candy set off the excess secretion of insulin — a fat-storing hormone. Excess insulin in the body triggers hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) which causes cravings and binging. Selecting lower glycemic index foods like including fruits, vegetables, beans and whole grains will keep your metabolism at a higher speed and develop long-term weight loss.
Dehydration. When you don’t hydrate with enough water, you encourage your body to hold on to its body fat. Many of us frequently misidentify hunger for thirstiness so they eat more food when they really should be imbibing water. When you are well hydrated, your entire body, including your metabolism, will run more efficaciously. Drink fresh water each day. In addition to water you can drink unsweetened or lightly sweetened herbal teas, watered-down juice and consume lots of water-rich foods such as watermelon and cucumber.

Body Detoxification: A Dieter’s Ally
Posted in Better Health, Fit Men, Fit Women, Web Of Nutrition Resources on July 8th, 2010The optimum way to set out on any dieting plan is to start with a clean body. Body detoxification is an efficient tool you can use to support your weight loss efforts. Over time, through diet and exposure to environmental toxins, our bodies gather toxic wastes, which are stored in our blood, lymph fluid, organs and fat cells. The toxic waste we carry in our body is one of the single most essential reasons for weight gain and also one of the greatest obstacles to reducing body weight.
When we detoxify our body with a body detoxification plan, we are creating an ideal environment in our body for the work of weight reduction. A therapeutic body cleanse, in which we clean our body of held toxins will render some degree of speedy weight loss. As we purge toxic waste from our fat cells, they actually shrink in size. Purifying our colon of stored waste material will help decrease bloating, trimming down as much as a few inches from our waist. Detoxifying our lymph system of stored toxic material will lead to better delivery of nutrients to our cells and organs, causing us to look and feel better. A clean body will operate more efficiently, with a higher metabolic rate, which means that your body will burn more calories more effectively.
A vital first step in an effectual long-term weight loss is a thorough body detox. If possible, this should be done with the supervision of a medical practician, however, this isn’t needed if you do a little preparation and planning to ensure that you detox safely. Safe, thorough detox can’t be overemphasized. Many body detox plans affect only a part of the body. An appalling amount of cleansing programs can in reality do more harm than good. Long-term fasting with a lack of nourishment is troublesome, and many herbal cleansing products promise big effects are made of large amounts of powerful cathartic herbs. Choose your detox plan carefully. This will affect your overall success and the degree of detox side effects you will most likely endure.

Posted in Better Health, Fit Men, Fit Women, The Virtual Lifestyle on May 6th, 2010A lot of researches have been made to see the connection between population and heightened risk of developing heart problems. It took time for this study to finish owing to the nature of the elements being studied. However, important statistic findings came out from these studies. It has been found out that males, cigarette smokers, with high levels of blood fats, have hypertension and older than 35 are commonly affected by heart illnesses. Other factors that contribute to fast heart disease development include hard-driving, being anxious and compulsive.
There are two kinds of cardiovascular threats. The first group belongs t those threats that are out of our bounds to control. When we age, our sex, and our genetics are among those. The second group is those that are within our reigns. Examples of these are what cardiologists have termed as the triple threat, high levels of cholesterol in the blood, high blood pressure and cigarettes smoking. These we can avoid and even control. An example would be the big discrepancy in terms of the level of risk between somebody who does not smoke and somebody who smokes around a pack of cigarette in one day. Another would be the risk difference between a person whose diet is rich in fat and a person who takes the normal daily fat intake.
Cardiovascular health concerns the heart. To have strong cardio, you must ensure that your heart is strong. How do you do this?
The first thing that you need to do is to control those factors that contribute to your risk of developing cardiovascular problems. Avoid every possible reasons that could make your heart weak such as fat-rich foods and cigarettes. Give your heart plenty of what it needs like exercises and cardiovascular training. The heart is also made up of the same kind of muscles that constitute the legs and the arms. If the arms and legs can be strengthened through exercises, so can the muscles in the heart. In fact, an individual who does not exercise at have 49% higher chances of developing heart conditions.
Exercising gives you a lot of benefits. It can help you burn calories and loose weight in the process. It also increases one’s metabolism and improves your lungs. Since exercising is also a very good way to have fun, it helps you eliminate stress. It helps your heart become much stronger and helps avoid heart problems.
Cardiovascular training helps you in a lot of ways. It reduces your risk of getting any cardiovascular problems, keep you in shape and help you maintain a healthy body.

Here’s Some Advice for You Covering the Russian Kettlebell
Posted in Fit Men, Fit Women, Sports Hub on January 20th, 2010Scarcely a modern kind of weight is the Russian kettlebell. The approximations supported by experts on the subject date the instrument as having been invented in the early 1700s. Only recently have kettlebells rocketed to worldwide fame, and at the time of writing they’ve grown to be as popular as any other style of weight.
The more straightforward exercises can be used by anybody, whatever their prior fitness system, and there shouldn’t be a need to pay a great deal for the required apparatus. We can’t advise stepping straight to the more advanced moves, however. You’ll want to learn the easy routines before going for the sophisticated moves.
A very important precaution before beginning to employ Russian kettlebells involves making sure you buy the ideal weight. You won’t need as heavy a weight as you’d assume when kettlebells are your chosen exercise. Female beginners are probably better off with an eighteen pound weight, although men will most likely get better results if they go for the thirty-five pound variety. The weights are notably light — this is because in this workout, all that counts is the activity as opposed to how much weight is involved. Knowing you’re performing your exercises right is important, so look for an educational book or video to get it right. The two-handed swing should be the first technique to study on first taking up the kettleball. This motion forms the basis of many other kettlebell movements, and its easy appearance is misleading. Above all your exercises must be fluid, taking care not to be awkward. Lift the weights with your hips, rather than with your back or shoulders, to be sure of your comfort over the course of your techniques. After you’ve mastered this maneuver, you’re ready to take a go at the more difficult routines. To make sure the kettlebell can retain your motivation, diversity is the spice of life — you can always vary the backing tunes, move exercises in and out of your daily regime etc. Perhaps another set can be used once you know what you’re doing, and to shake the situation up completely you can perhaps even adjust the weight of the kettlebells. Following these tips, you can make sure your muscles are performing at maximum effectiveness and not run the risk of hitting a plateau.
A message we really should repeat here is that the kettlebells will not help you increase muscle mass or aid in body building. Because these workouts are developed purely to promote your overall fitness level and help you lose weight and improve tone.
Finally: fold a session working with the kettlebells to your pre-existing exercise course. Keep in mind that you can choose how frequently to use the kettlebells. Are you aiming to support your weight? A mere two sessions each week will do fine. Or you can pick up your drive, work out five or six times per week and get rid of that excess.
Four Tools for Successful Weight Loss
Posted in Better Health, Fit Men, Fit Women, Looking Good on January 13th, 2010Foods high in carbohydrates are the ruin of many dieters, but we must keep in mind that without a supply of sugars from carbohydrates, our body burns it’s own sources of protein and fat to meet its energy necessities. And yes, we want our body to burn fat, which is why we diet in the first place, but we do not want it to burn the protein from our muscles.
Not all carbohydrates are alike. The villain of our waist line is not carbohydrates themselves, but certain kinds of carbohydrates and their manner of metabolization in our system. We can best understand differences in carbohydrates in terms of simple and complex carbs. Simple carbs are found in sugary and processed foods, complex carbohydrates are found in whole foods like fruits, vegetables, grains and legumes.
Weight Loss Secret #1: Go for the complex carbs.
While we’re still on the subject of carbohydrates, another highly important factor to keep in mind is the glycemic index of foods. The glycemic index is a quantitative designation that tells us how quickly the sugars in a food break down into glucose. Glucose enters our bloodstream, raises our blood sugar level and then signals the production of insulin in order to keep blood sugar from getting too high. Insulin, aside from lowering blood sugar, tells our body to store fat. So if there is any villain here, it is not carbohydrates, but high insulin levels.
Weight Loss Secret #2: Eat low glycemic foods
Carbs are not the only factor to consider. We don’t want to neglect the other primary food groups, proteins and fat. Contrary to conventional belief, fat restriction does not in itself cause weight loss. We need healthy fats in our diet or we will be tempted to crave fatty foods. Good fats help our bodies utilize our food more efficiently and thereby actually enhances fat burn, ironic as it might sound. What are the healthy fats? These are a group of fats called essential fatty acids, the omega-3 and omega-6 oils. You can find them in nuts (especially walnuts), seeds (especially flax), salmon, avocado, and olive oil.
Weight Loss Secret #3: Eat good fats every day
Finally, a discussion of protein. We also need protein every day, but not too much. Protein is helpful in weight loss because it keeps our blood glucose levels balanced, thus keeping insulin levels down. Ideal sources of protein are legumes, chicken (not fried!), fish (not fried!), and lean beef.
Weight Loss Secret #4: Eat your protein: not too much, not too little
The bottom line: a healthy diet of low carbs, low glycemic foods, healthy fats and lean protein will give you the best chance for permanent weight loss and keep you well nourished in the process. Doing an occasional body detox will also help keep your weight down. There is an interesting detox weight loss connection.
The Facts about Shedding those Extra Pounds
Posted in Better Health, Fit Men, Fit Women, House Of Medicince on January 5th, 2010Morbid is reaching frightening proportions and frequently results in a premature death or a major medical complaint like mature onset diabetes. And while it is crucial to drop those excess inches, it is never accomplished easily. Before you start, you have to find out the best method of losing the extra body fat. Nobody wishes to starve themselves indefinitely, although it has taken months or at times years to put the weight on in the first place. Dieting for a long time and never profiting from the effects may bring you down. Worse still, some diets may lead to other severe medical complaints. So it’s essential to educate yourself on every alternative out there and then make your mind up.
Although gastric bypass surgery is common nowadays, at times it can result in some very harsh and severe side-effects. Excess sweating, sickness, and regular vomiting due to stomal stenosis are some the side effects seen following surgery, especially if you binge. Lots of individuals who select gastric bypass surgery likewise experience intolerance to particular food groups, diarrhea and the inability to tolerate cold temperatures. It is evident why this high risk procedure isn’t suitable for everyone. For someone who wants to lose weight quickly, fat burners offer a healthier option. Fat burners speed up your metabolism via elevating the amount of warmth generated inside your body, which mirrors the effects of physical exercise to help melt away the unwanted fat. Various active ingredientsincluding ephedrine and carnitine are employed by fat burners. These ingredients are nowadays promoted in a liquid version. This means they are digested very quickly and start to burn fat almost immediately. Irrespective of whether you opt for a surgical solution or plan to diet, you should meet your nutritional needs. If you decrease your food consumption often means cutting the amount of required vitamins and minerals available. Consequently, always remember to stay well hydrated and take the proper supplement when you are trying to shed unwanted weight. Regular physical exercise speeds up weight loss, in particular if you perform muscle building routines along with aerobic training to raise the pace at which you metabolize fat. Everyone would like for getting to your ideal BMI fast. It’s important to look after your body when dieting. To sum up, it is a great idea to follow a healthy eating plan, workout regularly and use a good multi-vitamin to maximize your chances of reaching your recommended BMI.
Is Splenda Bad for You? How to Find out
Posted in Better Health, Fit Men, Fit Women, Web Of Nutrition Resources on December 6th, 2009Many have been wondering: is Splenda bad for you?
The chemical name of the Splenda ingredient is sucralose. While sucralose is indeed a sugar molecule, it is the process by which it’s made that is concerning. Sucralose is an artificially produced chemical that is produced in a five-step patented process. During this process, three chlorine molecules are added to a basic sucrose molecule. The initial, natural sugar molecule is a disaccharide made up of two single sugars that are together; these single sugars are glucose and fructose.
The chemical process to make Splenda alters the chemical constitution of the sugar so much that it is converted into a molecule that does not normally occur in nature. Because this artificial molecule is not natural, the body does not know how to process it. According to the manufacturers of Splenda, this is the very reason why Splenda is calorie neutral — it is not broken down or metabolized by the body. Splenda merely passes through your digestive system without depositing any calories.
This is misleading, however, as Splenda’s no calorie status would only be technically valid if the body did have the capacity to metabolize it. More problematically, the fact that sucralose is an artificial ingredient elicits questions about its safety, especially if used in generous amounts over a long period of time. There is the additional potential problem of insulin response. While research findings are still unclear, the medical community widely speculates that Splenda produces an increase in insulin levels, which, whatever the caloric content, will signal the body to hold on to fat reserves or even store more fat.
One medical study nullifies the assertion that Splenda is not absorbed in the body. In this study (conducted on humans), one in eight participants did not excrete any sucralose after three days of ingesting Splenda. Another study (conducted on animals) concluded that 15% of ingested sucralose is absorbed into the digestive system and is stored in the body.
Kona Coffee Berry
Posted in Better Health, Fit Men, Fit Women, Web Of Nutrition Resources on October 6th, 2009Coffee Fruit is loaded with phenolic acids and therapeutic plant nutrients. These phenolic acids are brilliant anti oxidants. Coffee Berry begins it?s healthy goodness along the inclines of high altitude mountain side with rich organic soil. Nourished by mineral-rich soil and warmed by intense tropical sunlight, coffee plants produce a profusion of wonderful bright red fruit, known as Kona Coffee Berry.
Coffee Fruitis so exceptionally rich in antioxidants because it grows in high altitude, low-latitude regions where the sun?s rays are strongest. As the plants mature, they develop these powerful anti oxidants to protect them from damage caused by high doses of the sun?s radiation and the natural byproducts of photosynthesis.
You might be asking what the difference is between a Coffee Fruit and a Coffee Bean. Coffee berries are the outer layer of the coffee fruit and are a rich source of antioxidants. Research reports that 400 mg of concentrate has a radical scavenging activity equal to 9.6 grams of fresh blueberries, 6.2 grams of strawberries, or 4.9 grams of raspberries.
This potent anti-radical power has not been commercially available previously because the fruit rapidly perishes, which is why only the bitter seed has been commercially exploited.
“We have discovered a means of growing, harvesting and processing the whole coffee fruit so that we arrest the development of mycotoxins and thereby render the coffee fruit for human consumption.
Because no one until now has figured out how to do this in a cost effective manner, whole coffee fruit has simply not been available.”
Coffee Fruit contains five of eight rare and essential sugars called monosaccharides, with research indicating that these are essential for the proper functioning of various biological systems.
Almost half of the dry weight of the concentrate is made up of polysaccharides, such as mannans and arabinoglactan. Conventional roasting destroys these nutrients, so they are not found in traditional brewed coffee.
Kona Coffee Fruit is now available in a new energy drink called XOWii Energy.
