Read Your Opponent, Not Yourself

Posted in Fun Links, Gambling Wheel, Internet Games on September 22nd, 2009

A lot of poker online players have the bad habit of projecting themselves onto the opponents that they are trying to read. They may think about what they would do if they were in their opponents’ situation, without factoring the differences between their personalities and their opponents. The problem with this mindset is obvious, but most online poker players are guilty of committing this sin. I have often looked at an opponent and thought “If I was in his position, I would be bluffing…”, made the call, and lost the hand. The simple fact is, your opponent may not play online poker the exact same way that you do. Try to get into your opponent’s head and think “What would HE do in this situation”, not “What would I do if I were him?” Take what you know about your opponent and try to see things from his point of view. If the guy you’re trying to read is usually tight, try to imagine what a tight player would be thinking, and if he’s aggressive, then think like an aggressive player. It’s more difficult when your opponent’s playing style differs from yours, but a little imagination will go a long way in this situation.

My Definitive Guide to the El Gordo Lotto

Posted in Bookmakers Stuff, Gambling Wheel on September 22nd, 2009

A key part of the Euromillions Euro lottery is the Elgordo Loteria which you may find it worthwhile to learn about. With payouts between eighty-four million and more than two and a half billion Euros, the lottery offers one of the world’s richest jackpots. But read on, for that’s not all. There is lots more to it you really must know. With over thirteen thousand prizes available your chances of winning a prize mean that there’s one winning ticket in every six. That’s a pretty remarkable rate when compared with the majority of other lotteries.

Each month the Euromillions Euro lotto holds a draw. Grander prizes can be had from featured draws held during three months around the year. Precisely: the January “El Nio”, the summer “San Ildefonso”, and held around Christmas, “Elgordo” aka “fatso”, with Christmas’s Elgordo draw being the largest and most popular of the twelve. Unusually for lotteries, the balls required by the Elgordo lottery draw have five digits on each, with a numerical range from 00,000 to 84,999. In this system, one ball is drawn from a bowl to determine the winning ticket while a second is drawn from the second bowl to decide the prize value.

Should you want to have a chance to win there is a full ticket called a “serie”. The other option is cheaper; called a “décimo” valued at one-tenth of a full ticket. Neither option is particularly cheap, however, and obviously neither has a better chance of being a winner. As a result many players of the Elgordo lottery take advantage of the e-lottery system. Everyone’s certain of winning a prize when participating in the e-lottery system. Simply buy your way into the Elgordo Lotto syndicate where you’re divided up into teams. With each team assigned a number from zero to nine when the drawing is held, the final digit of the winning number identifies the team that will receive the prize. An even distribution of the spoils among the members follows. Afterward, subscriptions are offered ready for the lottery held next month.

Sharing the prizes causes a little concern for some players. But when you stop to think how much 2.6 billion Euros is actually worth, there’s still lots of money for everybody. As you’re guaranteed to win once a month, the e-lottery is both less of a worry and more affordable. It’s the smarter approach to the Euromillions Euro lotto…

£2 Billion London Broadgate Office Complex Sold

Posted in Advertising, Market, Real Estate Resources on September 22nd, 2009

Situated in the city of London, the Broadgate office complex, arguably the largest and most innovative construction project of the 80s is set to be sold to the world’s most prominent equity farm Blackstone Group LP. Blackstone agreed to buy 50 percent shares of the famous office complex built next to Liverpool Street station from the giant property development and investment company British Land Co. PLC.

The sold property has a value of over £2 billion in the transaction, of which a mere £77.5 million will be paid by the Blackstone where British Land will accept the remaining £987 million as debt.

Peter Rose from Blackstone has addressed Broadgate as a first class asset and has found the opportunity to get acquisition of this type of desk space in such an area a unique one. Strategically, the deal is assumed to come good for British Land also, which is the observation of business analyst Harry Stokes who is working for Evolution Securities Ltd. Harry sees the deducted rating on the stock as a means of a low key exposure to the Broadgate offices.

Chris Grigg, chief executive of British Land has stated that the transaction will open new windows of investment possibilities somewhere else where they would like to reinvest in various quick assets.

While the shares of British Land soared from 18p to 530p, the value of Broadgate plummeted nearly 33 percent as a result of a decline in the commercial property market of U.K. That prompted British Land and Blackstone to fix a budget of £100 million for renovating Broadgate over the next five year. But for a huge complex like Broadgate, where the room for improvement is immense, £100 million might not be sufficient to give it a new look.

Many UK and North European citizens are finding the idea of purchasing abroad more attractive and achievable. Since decent capital growth is offered, lower air prices and interest rates have made buying property in Spain more desirable. You will enjoy lots of sunshine and it’s just a short trip to Spain. Although buying property in Spain has received a bad rap, you can get a great deal if you follow a few underlying guidelines. • Did you purchase this product directly or was it a cessation of contract?

  • Will there be any under declaration in this purchase?

  • Will further costs be incurred by you such as capital gains, inheritance, income or other taxes?

  • Are there any unforeseen deposits to pay? When in the procedure are refunds no longer possible?

  • What other attorney fees and additional legal expenses will be incurred?

Measures Needed to Protect Workers from Electricity Risks

Posted in Better Health, Market, World Of Law on September 18th, 2009

Andrew Perry, who was visiting a waste site owned by John Rowland Fallows in Staffordshire on 3rd September last year, received an electric shock and suffered severe burns to his arm and feet. He was using a control lever of his truck to throw waste, when its extending arm touched a set of high-voltage overhead cables. A surge of current passed though the truck and singed him. He was thrown out of the truck by the force of the current. However, he did not die of the accident and was lucky enough to have a narrow escape.

The owner of the waste site was prosecuted by the Newcastle-under-Lyme Magistrates Court for violation of Regulation 14 of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989. The accused accepted the liability for the overhead wires and agreed to pay the fine of £1,600 and costs of £2,214 as ordered by the court.

HSE inspector Lynne Boulton said in this regard that overhead wires lead to more than 60% of electricity-related accidents. Machinery touching wires can be very dangerous, as electricity can pass through the metal and reach the operator. At times, electricity can jump across to reach the machines even when they are not touching any wires.

Thus, it is necessary to keep a distance and erect barricades to prevent such accidents. Since there was no such safety measure taken in this case, not even a board put up with a warning, the accident was bound to happen sooner or later. The owner in the present case took the required action immediately after the accident, but doing so beforehand could have prevented the accident from happening altogether.

The HSE is urging all employers to take precautions to ensure that such an accident is not repeated. The NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH Cert) is a qualification designed to help those with health and safety responsibilities to carry out their duties at work more effectively and to protect the organisations for which they work. Take a look at the course details for more info and to make sure you are aware of your responsibilities as an employer to keep you employees safe and protected.
